Booking the court
SportyHQ has a payment system that enables bookings, and payments (for guests and casual players) via credit card, Snapscan, Zapper etc. This payment system only works via a web browser and not on the app!
Long-term (Lifetime or Annual) members playing with other long-term members do not need to pay as it’s part of the monthly/annual subscription fees.
If you are a Casual Player (R80 per hour) or a member playing with a guest (R40), you will need to load “credit” to your account. This process is initiated automatically when you book via a browser. After you’ve loaded credit, you can make a reservation.
You can do this for just one session or you can stock up on credit, which will automatically be deducted each time you play. This is preferable as you can then book directly from the phone app without having to make a payment each time.
On the SportyHQ app
- “Create new booking”
- Choose “Kommetjie Tennis Court”
- Choose date and time
- Choose if you’re playing with another member or guest.
If the player is a member, their name should appear automatically.
- Choose the reservation length
On a browser
- Go to Kommetjie Tennis Club – Profile Page
- On the left select “Bookings”
- Check the checkbox/s for the timeslot/s you want to reserve
- Select a Reservation Type, Booking Length and specify who you’ll be playing with
- Click Reserve
- If a payment is necessary, please follow the necessary steps (see above) to load credit and to pay for the booking.
The gate lock code is shown in the booking confirmation email. For security reasons, the code will be changed regularly.
Rules & Policies
Subject to change in the interest of fairness. Please remember that the tennis courts are on school property and therefore need to be treated with the appropriate care and respect. The subscriptions and fees will be used for rent, court maintenance and infrastructure around the court. By being honest with your contributions and court usage, you will help to build an amazing little tennis community in Kommetjie.
Bookings
- All members can book the court a maximum of three times per week for up to 90 minutes per booking. In fairness to other members who want to play, please book only for as long as necessary.
- Bookings are possible maximum 7 days beforehand.
- The available time slots will be visible on the app in green
- Casual players who either use the court on their own or with other guests, must have their own SportyHQ accounts.
- Members who make bookings to play with guests are responsible for paying the fee for the guest and accept responsibility for the guest’s safety and behaviour while they are using the court.
- Once-off players pay the fee for the court which includes any further players.
- The school has priority for court usage and reserves the right in exceptional circumstances to cancel bookings made by members. Members will be notified by email.
- The club/school coach has acquired coaching time which normally takes place on weekdays.
There are also other times which will be reserved for clinics, tournaments, regular doubles games between longstanding members etc.
During school holidays there will be greater court availability. Available time slots appear in green in the app.
Court Usage
- Anyone using the court does so at their own risk and expressly agrees that Kommetjie Primary School will not be held liable for any injury, loss or damages incurred while using the court.

- Please stay near the tennis court area.
- Please do not intrude on other activities going on (e.g. dog training)
